Tastiest Tuna Melt

Meet your dream sandwich, tuna lovers! We have seasoned this bread with celery, pickles, red onions, and chilli flakes to create a flavorful salad that is just as good as this bread. With just the right amount of crispy cheddar cheese and a few delectable slices of tomato, you can even make a tuna hater switch.

Any kind of cheese will do for the “melting” part of this bread; American, Monterey Jack, or Swiss varieties work well, but we enjoy the robust taste of cheddar.


  • 1 (1 pound) loaf French bread
  • 1 small sweet onion, peeled and diced
  • 1 (12-ounce) can tuna, drained
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mayonnaise


  • Step 1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step 2 In a mixing bowl, combine sweet onion, drained tuna, mozzarella, and mayonnaise. Mix thoroughly.
  • Step 3: Spread the tuna mixture on slices of French bread to form a sandwich. Place sandwiches on a cookie sheet.
  • Step 4 Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes.
