It's just a straightforward and quick old-school tuna egg sandwich. These are what my grandparents make, and they claim that this is the "proper" method to assemble a filling sandwich.

It’s just a quick and easy old fashioned tuna roe sandwich. That’s what my grandparents did, and they thought it was the “right” way to mix sandwich fillings. 

Ingredients

  • 1 (5 ounce) can tuna, drained
  • 3 hard-cooked eggs, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices whole wheat bread

Directions

Combine tuna, egg, celery, and mayonnaise in a medium bowl. To taste, salt and pepper the food. Place a slice of bread with half of the mixture on top and the other half with the other half. Add remaining bread slices on top. Serve.
