Replacing sieve filter with sock filter

The sieve worked great for a while,but had a tendency to become blocked with the finer particles. We were not able to build one on a larger scale, i think that would have been more successful.

As we have around ten tank and pond installations around the cafe it would have been impractical as space is at a premium.

Initially we will use a 200 micron sock on its own, but later may be three socks together fitting inside each other with a 150 – 100 micron in size.

They can be easily be made into a pre filter. While i was at it thought that i would give the shade cloth filters a bit of a rinse, i was surprised at how much waste there was. We will have to give this pre filter upgrade serious attention.

We found a snake living in the filter I wondered where all the small fry had gone I thought the fish where eating them.
