ProGold ProLink Chain Lube is a good lubricant that helps produce clean, smooth chains in a variety of conditions, creates minimal build-up in many applications, and has a fairly good service life. However, it is a very liquid liquid and needs to be handled with care.

Applied to clean lines as directed, it is an effective lubricant. It dries into a thin layer and differs from traditional dry oils in that it retains a light “oily” feel. It’s also very thin, as ProLink is practically water, so it should be used with care and ideally with a cloth to soak up any spills. It was very clean driving in dry conditions, picked up less gravel and dust, and even after wetter tests, it continued to perform well. I usually oil the chain after most rides, ready for the next, but with ProLink, that’s not necessary all the time.

Honestly, it doesn’t last long in rocky and wet terrain but it’s definitely more durable than others I’ve used recently. It has also been shown to be equally effective on long trips on gravel, where conditions are less rough but the chain turns more.

It is available in three bottle forms or as a spray, but given its good composition, we will only need to use the bottle form.
