The Eight-banded False Barb is a peaceful shoaling fish with a slightly timid nature. Ideal aquarium conditions include soft water, vegetation, shaded areas and peaceful tank mates. Avoiding bright lighting and providing a dark substrate will help to give the fish confidence. The fish is relatively new in the hobby and little information is available regarding breeding and natural habitat conditions.
