How to pack your bike for bike camping:

With the right bike accessories, you can easily fit all your camping gear onto one bike. So how can you maximize the space on your bike? Here are some accessories and ideas for packing them:

Bike rack:
Attach your sleeping bag or tent to the top and attach panniers to the sides.
If you attach a bike rack to the front and back of your bike, you can carry four panniers and attach a tent and sleeping bag as well. Even if your bike doesn’t have a rack, you can still attach a rack like the Thule Tour Rack that fits a variety of bikes.

Bike panniers:
For your clothes, food and cooking gear.
Panniers are bags that attach to the side of your bike rack. You can equip your bike with two large ones at the back, and maybe even two smaller ones in the front. The Thule Shield Panniers are waterproof and have compartments for your smaller essentials.

Handlebar bag:
To store your wallet, rain jacket and other small gadgets.
Handlebar bags are bags that attach to the handlebars to give you quick access to your important belongings. It’s perfect for holding wallets, maps, and raincoats in case of bad weather.

Saddlebags:
For storing your bike gear.
Every cyclist’s worst nightmare is a flat tire. Therefore, it is important to carry tools with you. A safety bag is located directly under your seat and is a convenient place to store multi-tools, pumps and tubes in case of disaster.

Hydration bag or fanny pack:
Used to carry water, small utensils and snacks.
While it’s best not to carry anything heavy on your back, hydration packs are smaller, lightweight backpacks that can help you stay hydrated and make it easier to get essential snacks during the trip!
